Youth Fit Lit Walking Book Club: Evvie Drake Starts Over This library staff-led talk will lead readers on a scenic walk around downtown, while we discuss Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes. Take a nighttime stargazing stroll and learn about the major summer constellations and the brightest stars and planets in our night sky. Thursday | August 8 | 9pm Adults Creation Station Every Saturday, we clear out the conference room to make room for our giant collection of creation toys! Saturday | August 3 | Noon Evenings Upstairs- Kentucky Humanities Chautauqua presents: Anne Shelby as Aunt Molly Jackson, "Pistol Packin' Woman" Feisty, funny, and completely fearless, Aunt Molly Jackson lived for nearly 50 years in the coal camps of Southeastern Kentucky, where her father, brothers, husband,, and sons were miners Thursday | August 22 | 7pm This class will provide an introduction to Google Docs for word processing, and Sheets for spreadsheets. Docs is for typing things like letters, lists, or school reports. Sheets organize information into rows and columns. It's great for budgets Wednesday | August 14 | 3pm Tuesday | August 27 | 10am Pedal in Paducah Grab your bike and gather with riders of all levels to tour some of Paducah's most notable spots in this series of laid-back leisurely paced, family-friendly rides. Rides are about 10 miles long and no rider is left behind. Well start and finish in the library parking lot. Bring your helmet! This program series is in partnership with the Chain Reaction Cycling Club Tuesday | August 27 6pm Emergency Preparedness 101 Learn tips from local meteorologist Beau Dodson in being prepared in the event of severe weather, flooding, or possible earthquakes. He'll cover the emergency equipment your family should have on-hand, how to spot hazardous weather conditions, and how to utilize social media and other online resources for safety. Thursday | August 29 | 7pm Census 101: From A-Z an all Letters In-Between Led by Mark J. Wattier, Partnership Specialist for the Jackson Purchase. Wattier will discuss how the U. S.
