PUBLIC NOTICE West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc. CSBG Budget and Plan Is Available for Public Review West Kentucky Allied Services, In., each year completes its application for funding to the Department for Community Based Services in Frankfort. The current Community Services Block Grant Plan and Budget Proposal FY'20 for the operation of this program can be reviewed in each CSBG Office within the Purchase Area. West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc., is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency that was incorporated to provide and promote services to low-income people within the eight county Jackson Purchase Area counties in Western Kentucky, The eight counties that are covered by the agency include: Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, McCraken, and Marshall. The purpose and intent of the CSBG Program was designed by the Kennedy and Johnson Administration because of the sickness of poverty in the United States and there were available resources to assist in attacking the causes. This program was designed to help the low-income people to take the necessary lawful steps to better themselves, this becoming more self-sufficient. The basic purpose and intent in 1965, also holds true today, Community Services Block Grant Program is to develope such commitment within all sectors of the community and to help enable eachn sector to a part of the solution to poverty. This also requires the partnering of other community based service organizations to continue to collaborate to better proved assistance to the those in need utilizing this program.
